Pat 'two guns' Buchanan, asks a simple question. . .hunaevents.com, While these two wars have cost 5,200 dead, a trillion dollars and a divided America facing an endless war, what have we won?
Pakistan, which aided us in Afghanistan, now has a war of its own to fight. Its army is in a battle in South Waziristan, while the country is wracked by terror bombings, the latest in a Peshawar bazaar that specialized in women's clothing and jewelry and toys for kids. So horrific was the toll even the Taliban and al-Qaida denied any role in it. EU court: No customs breaks for Israeli goods from West Bank settlementshaaretznews.com, The opinion, submitted in a case in Germany brought by water purification firm Brita in 2002, could serve as a precedent in the EU. The company was ordered to pay 19,155 euros in customs for equipment it imported from the Israeli firm Soda Club, whose factory is in the West Bank. Medieval Banking: Why are we going backwards for our future?Roberto Naranjo ehistory.osu.edu After the collapse of the Roman Empire in the late fifth century, there followed centuries of deep economic depression, sharp deflation of prices and sluggish monetary circulation. By the end of the thirteenth century, with its economic resurgence, three classes of credit agents became distinguishable: the pawnbroker, the moneychangers and deposit bankers, and the merchant bankers. When the winds reap what they sow. . .The prophets die but not the reasons they cried, you heard me. Poem-People from the Same Clay
Legend has it we are all people from the same clay, molded from the same dirt, given divine breath, the curse, and condemned to life long work.
Although we hope for better days, will that ever come our way?
Battles and wars over race, religion and politics, none of this makes sense.
Do Utopia, Atlantis and Eden have to be of the same region?
Why did we loose our way, how did we loose our way, people from the same clay?
Between the elite and the beggar whose soul is better??
How much is ravaged when we are all really savage??
The question is how to end when all is said people from the same clay!! Dylan "feet to the fire" Ratigan has cojones, quotes Thomas Jefferson on mainstream TVFor video, Huffingtonpost.com "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs". Thomas Jefferson, (Attributed) 3rd president of US (1743 - 1826) quotationspage.com
Andy Rodriguez of Texas had this to say,"A realist? Lol your spreading the same endoftime rhetoric as those rightwing talk show host. i gav you an example of a society that recenty survived an econmic crisis quite, civil i might add!.your talking about surviving on some ridge!lol. the same pathology spread in katrina..lots of black&white people died.a historical embarrassment! Idratherspread societal optimism than fear. Challenges in oursocietywill shape us4 d better not worse!"
My rebuttal,
I guess this is why God gave us all our own eyes so we can all see things the way we want as individuals. You don't sound to optimistic yourself accusing me of "spreading the same end of time rhetoric as those rightwing talk show hosts". If you were disputing my assertions in the post I could understand but you turn to accusations and basically name calling. I know what I am seeing in our society Andy and I am not putting on blinders and acting as if what I am seeing is not there. That is being a realist I must tell you. Reality is what it is my friend. I did not make this country or the world what it is I am living in just like you. If me stating what I see makes me an end of times winger in your mind, which I might add, I never said anything about end of times, maybe it’s you that is really spreading end of times rhetoric. Social and political turmoil goes back to almost the dawn of civilizations (that's all I meant to imply). I live a positive life my friend, I am in college working on a bachelor’s degree, with a son who is doing well, and family that loves me. I am a free thinker in every sense of the words and I don't lean on religion or others for guidance on many matters. Including from a guy who happened to post at my humble blog, who I might add, does not even know me, unless you are psychic. Poetry is art which has many meanings and purposes. Sometimes artists use disturbing words and images to evoke response, reactions and thoughts. I have as much hope for tomorrow as any reasonable adult should. That being said, I will tell you I think if America and our constitution fail, I may then become and "end timer" as you allege. Because I do believe after thousands of years of humanity being unable to get creating a world in which we can all live in peace and "IF" America fails too on top of that; I do think the fate of humanity is all but sealed. If you find that as unreasonable I don't know what to tell you my man. I like to put it this way I don't have much hope but I do have a little faith. Or I see the cup as half full but I am still thirsty. That's why I write my poetry and express myself at my blog. I am just trying to invoke humanity, thinking, concern, the very stuff we all need in order for us to survive. I close now, I like your style Andy and I hope we continue the conversation. It is this kind of thing that can keep the spark of optimism flickering. Sounding very familiar and where is justice in America?news.yahoo.com, WASHINGTON – Internal investigations into the conduct of over two dozen House members have been exposed in an extraordinary, Internet-era breach of security involving the secretive process by which Congress polices lawmaker ethics.Corporatized medicine, assisted suicide and the hippocratic oath
I have just been thinking, given the ruthless, profit driven nature of corporatized medicine in America, one could think assisted suicide would be highly endorsed by the to big to fail pharmaceutical and medical industries. That way thier governement would be sure to legalize it. Seems they and the other power brokers could give a shitless who dies anyway. And it certainly seems the Hippocratic Oath has been euthanized.
Why Dr. Kevorkian ever went to jail given the state of medicine in America is quite perplexing. The ending of the "Business as Usual" atmosphere in Washington, D.C.I am starting to think the ending of the "Business as Usual" atmosphere in Washington, D.C. will have to be sudden, epic, and thunderous. Given the rising tensions in the American people and the flat out refusal of the politicians and corporations to treat Americans fairly as we should be.
Personally, I plan to be on some high mountian ridge. Considering human nature and the repetitious cycles of history I see these types of historic events as nearly futile.
