Considering an Al Sharpton vice presidency over an Obama presidency

As I like to mix things up and consider implications of scenarios that are contrarian to conventional wisdom I like to make statements and consider things that go against the grain (some times). This is the intention in questioning rather an Al Sharpton Vice Presidency would have served and fulfilled America’s needs better than an Obama Presidency. Just thinking out loud is all.

Sin tax, what about the Sin of Taxing too much??

It’s starting to look like the American people should be bracing for tax increases as intensely as the resident’s of tornado alley prepare for the tornado season.

One of the most profitable phrases in history has to be the one attributed to and Jesus allegedly said,

"Tell us, then, what You think. Is it lawful to pay taxes [KJV tribute] to Caesar, or not?" But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, "Why put Me to the test, you hypocrites? Show Me the money for the tax." And they brought Him a coin. And Jesus said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" They said, "Caesar's." Then He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." (Matthew 22:17-21 RSV)

I beg to differ with Jesus or others of this line of thought but with this one I think I will exercise my human right of free speech and say I disagree. Notice I did not say free will, as I will be damn certain to render unto Caesar, I mean Uncle Sam, whatever amount$ they say I should.

We have in the balance of things a good country, yet many of us are feeling various pressures because our situation could be better. If the services, including wise and ethical financial management were there, that the taxes are supposed to be paying for some of the momentum and validity would be lost in arguing taxes are too high.

The real reason for no reparations for slavery-the debt owed could never be repaid!

In my opinion the level of financial exploitation and devastations to the human psyche, soul, spirit, mind and body that result from slavery are things that could never be repaid. This is why it is all but impossible for there ever to be just reparations for it.

One thing in the United States favor on this issue is the recent formal apology from the Senate for slavery. Something I blogged on, calling for recently, and in the past predicted a black President would do or be associated with. Another thing I was ridiculed and scorned for by some but nonetheless came to pass. I note, I have not heard much opposition from any faction whatsoever on the right about the Senate's apology, much to their credit as well.

As far as race relations, America has made notable progress, yet much remains to be done. Native Americans really need the love now I would say. And some issues relative to African Americans still need attention. However, I still contend the only color that really matters in America and the world is the color of the monies of the various nations of ‘our’ world. That class, wealth, and status still divide us and cause more war, death, tragedy and evil than just about anything on earth. That being said I think that injustices to poor white people are kept in the closet more than just about any other subject in America.

Only thing really dark about the ‘Dark continent of Africa’ is how Africa is treated

In reviewing Africa’s current events and history it is not that hard to see that Africa has been and is being treated vary badly, in some cases inhumanely and in others cases Africa is being subjected to down right evil. In just about every issue relative to human society Africa struggles mightily. Some of the causes are the short comings of the people; many more though are caused by out side influences. So I conclude the only thing really dark about Africa is mainly how Africa is being treated.

U.S. Gov.'s environmental policy same as economic 'do as we say, not as we do'

I been reading and hearing about the so called ‘cap and trade’ energy legislation, so much in fact I cannot tell what the truth is about it. I do know one thing about the environment, the Federal and many of the State governments are as bad at polluting and letting corporations pollute as we the American people are with our polluting. And the pollution and damage to the environment that comes from the world’s militaries and wars is mind boggling yet very little is ever discussed about it. Since it seems we are all responsible for our environment we should all be equally responsible for the clean up and maintenance of it.

But like with the economy it seems all law/rule changes and most financial responsibility from environmental policy change will fall to the backs and pocketbooks of the middle/lower classes in America. I am certainly not saying any thing new here. I only have an associate’s degree in construction technology for now, yet even I can see what is going on here is a ‘do as we say, not as we do’ policy when it comes to the relationships between the average American people, the government and the “corporate-military-industrial complex”, as President Dwight D. Eisenhower famously put it.

Explosive documentary, Food, Inc., can it wake us up?

"It turns out that figuring out the most simple thing -- like what's on your dinner plate, and where it came from -- is actually a pretty subversive act".

This film to me connects to the steriods in sports issues, illegal drug use in society, presription drug use in society, our relation to the environment, how corporations/elite really think of average Americans/world and more. We are clearly in trouble as species and we better change some things soon or these things will indelibly change us.

Sadly, Michael Jackson had nothing left to do but die

In our culture where we seem to thrive on tearing down people as hard, if not harder then we build them up. Michael Jackson had suffered enough in the last 10 yrs. especially with the allegations of child sexual molestation, and the resulting whirl wind, that I imagine anyone would be despondent and for a star of his magnitude dying probably seemed like the best/only option. Especially, if it came out that the allegations were false, and made by stop at nothing, money hungry, gold diggers or that an even more sinister plot was a foot. The only aspect surprising to me about his death is that he lasted as long as he did after all that happened to him. I thought Michael was going to and probably wanted to kill himself long ago.

I personally never understood how a man of Michael Jackson’s $tature could keep secret CRIMINAL acts of child molestation all those year$, and then all the $udden, he's a criminal child molester. If he was a child molester my second thought was in Hollywood, given the legends of the casting couch, the rumors, and actual known and proven sexual exploits that can go on in the entertainment world, he may very well have been molested himself as an upcoming young star.

Let’s face it Michael is just another face in a long line of stars or the best and brightest that we and Hollywood and American culture has chewed up and spit out.

By the way it will more than likely be a thriller.

Class warfare rages in the US-The elite & their politicians should rethink priorities

As Americans, one of the hardest working populations on earth, who helped build this great country too, have to struggle and fight just to be given health care. One could think that those ruining, I mean running this country would rethink the position that American’s are just too expensive to take of.

Disappearing politicians and other elite types-what gives??

Currently in the media there is a story about missing S.C. Carolina Gov. Sanford. During the Presidential campaign last year I recall that both then candidates Obama and Clinton both disappeared. Obama even a pulled a stunt on the media in being clandestine when he disappeared for the two days I think it was. And as for some of the elite types some of them are so secret only a handful of people ever see them for their whole mysterious lives.

It is indeed an interesting and strange planet we live on folks. When one thinks of the debauchery that surrounded elite societies in times past, one could contemplate what these people are really up to in our era. Given the condition of what passes for reality these days one has to wonder if some of the practices of ancient elite societies are not occurring today.  Millions of us do seem to be spellbound by all that is happening. And justifying being depressed, angry, frustrated, hopelessly confused or just hopeless or scared or down right terrified is not all that hard to do these days. I certainly understand the need for all the prescription and illegal mood altering drugs in “modern” American society and the world as well.

I know I wonder what the politicians and the members of the so called elite society are really up to when they disappear. Especially the ones who we never see but whose decisions have enormous implications for enormous numbers of people on the planet.

As greedy savage elite, warmongers & death merchants destroy the world, can they be stopped?

As the world’s populations are dragged into war after war, as pollution rages on, as the rapacious depletion of natural recourses continues and consumerism seems like a religion, I question if the forces driving these things can be stopped.

Warmongers want more war, and the death merchants endlessly peddle weaponry around the world, and I question can anything stop them. Debris from wars, like burned out tanks, sunken ships, shot down planes, unexploded ordinance, mines and more litter virtually every corner of ‘our world’. Yet it seems the lords of war will continue to ply their trades with tenacity and a vengance.

Consumerism seems to me to have achieved the status of a high religion and the natural resources of the world seem too be thought of as endlessly available for the sacrifice to human pleasures. Some of us are more responsible in this area than others. Nonetheless it seems we are rapidly approaching a point that will culminate in massive shortages of food, water, clean air, useable habitat for humanity and the other species of ‘our world’.

I never cease to be amazed that we have proclaimed ourselves to be a superior species, the creation of a higher intelligence that has endowed us with intelligence, nobility and all the rest of it. Yet what we have made the world into barely demonstrates any of these characteristics that we proclaim the higher intelligence endowed us with.

I will say it time and again, I do not know who or what removed human fur, fangs, claws and tail and thought we were no longer savage or animal. I would say that whoever or whatever made us should go back to the drawing board because clearly we are still a very savage species, ignorant and almost helpless, in my humble opinion as always.

Does or should President Obama owe special considerations to African Americans?

This question has come to mind because almost daily in the news I hear of or read about African American men, young men and boys being beat or killed in the news by each other and the police across America. Many of which are unarmed when these events occur. Mean while for African American people in general, job availability is limited, black people are often the first fired and last to be hired. Access to even a standard quality education, medical care, and housing is limited for African American’s. There are more per captia blacks in poverty and incarcerated. There are many discrepancies in sentencing of African Americans and in other aspects that relate to the justice system.

African American life expectancy is on average shorter, with infant mortality leading the country as well. The quality and standards of life significantly lag behind too. And there are more statistics that seem to indicate America remains largely unequal, divided and racists.

That being said there is now a black President and many gains to be counted that African Americans have achieved and maintained.

So I question does or should President Obama owe special considerations to African Americans?

On one hand I think it is enough that the man put himself in a position to even be considered Presidential material. It took a life time of work and commitment to achieve what he has already achieved. Obviously, he is so far an excellent role model in many areas of life for many types of people, and children around the world, and from many walks of life.

I understand the need for any person in such a high profile job to appear as unbiased as is possible. For him to even appear that he is showing favoritism to any group (including corporations ideally) could significantly impair the effectiveness of his message/communications and credibility. Not to mention providing his critics with fodder to attack him.

I think President Obama is doing as well as any one person could be expected to considering the enormity of his job description. I just know some issues need to be confronted head on, openly, vigorously and without regard to the sensitivities of some people. I would guess it is probable the President is doing some things behind the scenes for some of the issues African Americans face. But if African Americans continue to lag behind and see major injustices continue the President could and probably will quickly lose support among black Americans.

I’ll give the man one thing he is brave and I admired and respected his recent trip to the Middle East.

Lockstep orthodoxy, rather liberal or conservative is lockstep orthodoxy

I know this observation has been made and stated in many different ways. But as I watch how engulfed the US is in liberal vs. conservative political warfare I feel the need to express myself. In my opinion the political infighting is ripping and wrenching at the core, at the soul even of this country. Members of each party seem to be in unquestioning and oblivious lockstep orthodoxy with their respective parties’ platforms, which is just as bad as religious zealotry. It seems the fight and winning has so consumed each party the consequences of their actions can be damned, along with those who have to suffer the consequences. If that is not lockstep orthodoxy I don’t know what is. A junky, rather political or drug related is still a junky. And as a junky becoming so consumed in the addiction that they ultimately end up destroying themselves can be a natural consequence.

Iran-What happens when religious wackos are out of control

As I watch the drama unfold in Iran my skeptical opinions of overly religious political governance is once again confirmed. Religious people all over the world should be watching and looking at this situation for lessons. But I doubt it, the zealots will think if they and the whole world for that matter only observed their brand of religion socities would work better and be more peaceful, completely denying of course the collective chaotic/murderous pasts of most of the world’s major religions. I swear it’s not voodoo that makes most of the world’s zombies; it’s the worlds major religions that are making the most zombies. Of course, that comment angered a lot of people on some of the sites that I used to post/blog on too.

How people can become so unquestioning, devoted to, and zealously be willing to die or kill for dubious religious dogmas, essentially brain washed, remains one of the worlds great mysteries, in my humble opinion. If I were at war with humanity religion would make me a very happy camper. My humble opinion is anything that causes warfare and division among humanity is essentially a threat to us all. This includes whatever or whoever benefits the most from the divisions and warfare. We better wake up, all of us, and soon before we put ourselves in a situation that has irrversible consequences if we haven't already and just don't know it yet!!!

Bank of England & US Fed seem to be on massive power grab

Alistair Darling will in the next few days set out a blueprint for financial regulation in Britain, which has at its heart a beefed-up tripartite system, rather than a wholesale transfer of powers to the Bank of England.

The Obama plan would give new powers to the Federal Reserve to oversee the entire financial system and would also create a new consumer protection agency to guard against credit and other abuses that played a big role in the current crisis.

The Obama plan would give new powers to the Federal Reserve -- the US central bank -- to oversee the entire financial system and create a new consumer protection agency to guard against the types of abuses that played a big role in the current crisis.

It also would make the Fed the regulator of some of the largest and most interconnected institutions in the financial world — an attempt to supervise companies that are so big that if they fail they could do harm to the economy. A separate council, chaired by the Treasury secretary, would watch over the financial system to flag risky new products or trends

As taxes pile up on the American dream, Obama's rhetoric rings increasingly hollow

I been listening to President Obama today wax transcedent about all the possibility and promise that is at the core of what the United States is supposed to be about. I cannot help but question how the President cannot see that some of his plans seem to contribute to how rapidly that promise is fading for millions of people. We are free to dream, so far that is but do anything more than that and the tax man (among others) cometh!!!

I heard on Fox news today a proposed increasing of the tax on sugar is in the offing. The term 'Sin Tax' has been coined to make these types of taxes more palatable to people of reason.

I wonder what about the sin of taxing to much???

Tennessee Senator’s aide caught sending racist Obama e-mail

story here, inquisitr.com

In my opinion I am not sure the picture amounts to racism, poor taste maybe but even then I got a little smirk. I have seen much worse about Cheney and Bush and others on the internet, that's for sure.

The real story for me is the dynasty of white presidents before Obama that lead to and culminated in the circumstances we have now in America. This is exactly why I thought the time was not right for anything but another white male president. It is this dynasty of white men that are responsible for what and where America is today, another white male should be the one to restore this country. To me Obama's race complicates all the problems of this country with a whole other layer of issues, which may prove to be one to many layers for us to resolve.

Back during the presidential campaign I said if there ever was a gene pool that showed that there is no such thing a superior race, it is in the dynasty of US presidents. Of course I made lots of people mad and angry at me by saying that at some of the places I blogged/posted on but I stand by the statement.

America is a mess right now; we are in financially dire circumstances and socially close to collapse. It has been a majority of white men that were in charge as these circumstances culminated this cannot be denied. There are frankly scary things happening in America right now and if others are right there are more to come. Certainly from the circumstances and solutions being sought one can see scary things coming to America for oneself.

I just do not see the wisdom in putting a black person in the highest office in the land in these turbulent times, unless of course ulterior motives exist. I thought a black vice president was a proper first step but who am I?

No holds bar discussions for healthcare access as long as its not for Congress, the Presidents or elite society

It seems anything goes when discussing healthcare access and options as long as its about average Americans and not for politicians, corporate exceutives, former Presidents and others considered part and parcel of the elite society.
