Gore Vidal: ‘We’ll have a dictatorship soon in the US'

What Ever Happened to the Ozone Layer?

Rep. Ron Paul's new book, END THE FED

amazon.comdailypaul.com, Customer review,  "Andrew Jackson ended his Fed in 1836. Ron Paul can do the same for us, if we make it possible. Read this book and work to end the central economic and political evil in America, the central bank that fuels recessions and depressions, the warfare state, the redistributionist state, and the police state. End the Fed!" Published 1 month ago by L. H. Rockwell, Jr.

In probably the richest nation in the history of civilization-35 Million Americans on Food Stamps

mybudget360.com, via, bln.com, (12 Percent of U.S. Population on Food Stamps Highest Since Records Kept in 1969) I am amazed at how many people think that suddenly with a 10 percent gain on Monday that somehow the market is now in good shape.  This could not be further from the truth.  Massive percentage swings occur during economic turbulent times.  You do not want to see 10 percent up or 10 percent down days.  What you do want to see is a market that is steadily moving up based on earnings reports and an economy that is growing at a healthy pace.

Protestors & conspiracy theorists-Mainstream medias verbal bashing groups of the month

In reading over several mainstream media news websites and watching mainstream TV news broadcasts this week, it would seem that the mainstream media can't get enough of verbally bashing the 'conspricay theorists' or protestors of various sorts. In listening to many of the mainstream media talking head automatons, I could think people that are in these groups are anything and everything but children of God.

I only question, when will these types take a good long look in the mirror, and consider what they are in the face of the mostly lousy job they are doing keeping the American people informed. What a world indeed.

Any surprises here?

Racial scapegoating & the cowardice behind it. . .

After reading the information in the following article, Drudge, Limbaugh, and the Sad Return of "Racial America" huffpo.com, I immediately thought about what I see as the scapgoating of young black men and other subgroups in America, and the issues I see behind it, including what I see as best described as cowardice. However, in my thoughts also on the topic of the school bus violence that is mentioned in the Huffpo article, I can see absolutely no excuse for it, nor do I condone violence except in self defense.

Personally, I can see almost no justifiable reason for violence in our society; we all have it pretty good compared to many countries in 'our' world. Even our 'poor' have it much better than most, if not all of the world, when compared to poor populations in other countries. So no matter what the circumstance here in America, except in cases of self defense there should ideally be no violence.

There is no doubt in my mind though that there is an almost intractable hatred of black men in America in a considerable number of Caucasian people in America. Please note I did not say all Caucasians or even half, I said a considerable number just to be clear and REASONABLE on the matter. This is my acknowledgement that racial progress, thank God has been made in America. Now if we can get some economic justice we could regain some valuable lost progress, and resume building a Nation that is the envy of the world again.

I feel compelled though to acknowledge that in my opinion hatred and injustice against black Americans exists, and that it has a negative impact on many quality of life issues for black Americans. There are many statistics that confirm this, and they are easily found with a Google search.

The problem for us as a species though is that racism, and hatred are nearly universal traits in humanity. As we all know or should know by now, problems around race, religion, politics, and wealth go back almost to the dawn of human civilization. What is particularly ironic though is that as a self proclaimed higher intelligence we cannot for the sake of us all even, let alone 'our' earth, figure out an end to the madness.

To add another layer to what I consider a bewildering existence though is the phenomenon known as scapegoating, which I believe is almost as universal to humanity as racism and racial hatred. People in societies throughout the ages have been scapegoating others for all kinds of reasons. The reason that sticks out the most to me though is cowardice, in that the people and situations that should be confronted are not, and the least powerful and least influential groups are attacked instead. It is easy to blame young black men, or gays, or rock and roll, or certain movies, or long haired people, or music subgroups, addicts, or whatever else as the cause of this societies problems. I contend that the subgroups that present problems for the orthodxy in America are really symptoms emerging that are caused by larger problems in American society. I personally think the types that attack the weakest groups in our society are terrified to confront the real scoundrels causing us all problems, all of us that are below a certain income anyway or so it would seem.

All the black people could be forced out of America, or voluntarily leave America tomorrow, or be ethnically cleansed, and I put forward in less than 5 yrs. there would be significant trouble and within 25 yrs war. White people fight each other as much, and can and do at times hate each other as much as some of them hate black people now this is the truth of the matter. In other words I am saying as soon as Black people were out the way white people sooner, rather than later would fight each other. This I assert is what happened after the Native Americans were conquered. This is the same for all the "races" of humanity, all throughout recorded history as far I know.

The longer I am alive the less I understand about our species, I have read many books, pondered several philosophies, religions, theories, politically ideologies, power quests, and ideas trying to understand our species, and nothing I have ever been allowed to read or to know has ever fully explained us I think.

Ron Paul: Federal government ‘one giant toxic asset’

rawstory.com  I don't think anyone can say it any better than this!! There's GOP leadership and then there is real GOP leadership like Ron Paul. Ron Paul causes me to question just how serious many in the GOP are about smaller government, sound, restrained Federal financial policies, term limits, and restraining lobbying, etc. I think if there were more serious smaller governemnt advocates in the GOP, Mr. Paul I think would occupy a more prominent role in the Republican party. In fact not too many of them spoke up about how Mr. Paul was treated by many in the media that I thought tried marginalized and tried to discredit Ron Paul during the Presidential campaign. For that matter not many in the Democratic party spoke up for Dennis Kucinich either during the campaign because I thought the media went out of there way to marginalize and discredit him too.

Corporations-What is the truth, and how powerful are they?

"That night I learned that a corporation did not have to be regarded as an evil entity. Just like human beings, corporations can be good or bad. They can be established to improve the lives of those that work for them, and the lives of those that they work for, or they can be used to subdue a populace, enslaving a society to do its bidding".  This film, presented below, is a great introduction to what a corporation really is: chycho.com

Representative Joe Wilson calls the President a liar during speech last night, what's next a brawl?

I have been listening to the news this morning and listening to reactions to Rep. Wilson's shout out last night during the President's joint session address. The reactions I have heard range from it was disrespectful and a serious breech of etiquette, that it was based on race exclusively, one person on c-span said it was being overblown and should be dropped as an issue already.

There are many ways to see what Rep. Wilson did last night. I see it as further evidence as I have said before that America so obviously has a society that is in distress and our social fabric is ready for the rags bin. That’s why I ask the question what’s next in the Congress, a brawl?  And when considering human nature and the history of the U.S., anything from a 10 paces turn and fire dual, to a Revolution or a Civil War or a coup can happen in and because of the acts and words that happen in politics. No matter how much we may like to think that our modern times are different from these sensational events, customs and reactions of long ago, I think, as many others before me that history seems to repeat itself. Strong passions are stirring in America again and passions as we know often have no rhyme or reason, like feelings, they just are and they can and do often overtake people.

Lets face it even as the minority party the GOP is kicking some Democratic Butt

I am not a formerly trained political analyst but I am not afraid too throw an opinion or two or three into the ring. Worst that can happen is I get laughed at I hope.

That being said when I look at how the GOP is performing from a strictly political point of view I have to say even as the political underdog the GOP is kicking some major democratic tail and once again is schooling the democrats in the finer aspects of the political arts and sciences. This is of course as always just my humble opinion.

Look at the defeats (at least from public appearance/relations point of view) the democrats appeared to have suffered just since the President has been elected. I don’t want to go over the list of defeats herein. And I certainly don’t want to bring up how badly it appeared the GOP man-handled the Democrats when they were the political majority during the Cheney-Bush, I mean Bush-Cheney reign. I am not even a democrat and it was traumatic for me too.

I am guessing that the contest is probably much closer to a tie in the behind the scenes combat between the two parties. Let me just say I bet for the foreseeable future we will see no shortages of accusations and counter accusations and threats of investigations and counter investigations of the investigations and or threats of formal criminal charges between the two parties. Let us hope the rancor does not escalate to irrational heights as in times past.

Conspiracy theorists get more bad press for questioning and challenging the status quo

truthnews.com, truthnews.com, My thing with this whole media war, conspiracy theory people vs. mainstream media type$ is if the conspiracy theory people are so far out, why address them at all? If the materials and information conspiracy theorists use to challenge issues with is the stuff of nuts and wackos why bother with any response to them at all?

I thought questions, debate, and curiosity, and out side the box type thinking is encouraged in a democratic and educated society. One could also think that nonconformity and challenges to the prevailing orthodoxy could be tolerated in a scientific, rational and democratic nation as well.

I know for myself I have a problem with anyone who is looking at the same world I am and thinks I am supposed to believe there are no problems or that there are not something’s going very, very wrong or believe everything is under control. I am open for debate on what are the causes of the problems of the world but I cannot deny my own eyes or doubt my own reason in concluding we as a species have a lot of problems on our hands.

I also want to know how another human, no matter how well trained, that is just as fallible as the next human being, gets to describe or label people as mentally ill just like that? There are a lot worse things so called conspiracy theorists could be doing with their time. Yet time and again formal academics of every discipline have been proven to be wrong about a great mass of ideas, theories, concepts, reasoning, experiments, etc. Why do they not get ridiculed and mocked upon every failing or foolish thing they say or do? Suppressing debate and free expression is something I expect from an organization like the Catholic Church, not from my government or from the academic quarters or especially from what is supposed to be a constitutionally free media. But all too often resistance and suppression is increasingly what is happening to people who question and challenge the status quo and prevailing wisdom or orthodoxies. Not long ago the seemingly ubiquitous bloggers were the group getting the verbal bashings, and tongue lashings from the mainstream media. Before the bloggers, black men were the problem, before the black guys, the gays were the issue. Before the gays were the issue, the skate board and hip hop kids were the problem. Then there is the media’s fall back cause celeb, the crashing and burning celebrity. Every body but the media has issues I guess and they are the ultimate 'deciders' for us all.

Another thing I've noticed is that conspiracy theories are ok as long as it's government officials or other relevant agencies making the claim. Civilians can even have videotape, etc. as evidence of an allegation and some how in many cases that is just not quite good enough either. But if authorities have video it's a slam dunk, beyond explanation event and all should except it as gospel.

One day the patronizing and the labeling and the medicating/institutionalizing of people, and the ridiculing of people, and embarrassing people, and the threatening/intimidation of people, and causing physical harm to people is going to wear thin and there will have to be some explaining that will have to get done. There are too many arrogant people who are condescending and act as if the majority of people in the world are infantile and ignorant and this gives them free reign.

Phillip D. Collins "scientific totalitarianism remains a preoccupying sociopolitical phenomenon of the 20th century"

conspriacyarchives.com, Phillip D. Collins | 2009-06-11 - Scientific totalitarianism is certainly not a new topic in the halls of political science and history. Given its bloody legacy of democide (i.e., state-sanctioned genocide, mass murder, and politicide) and its prolific spread throughout the world, scientific totalitarianism remains a preoccupying sociopolitical phenomenon of the 20th century. . .
